As some visitors to this site might know, when not shooting weddings I am often out working as a photojournalist, covering news stories in and around London, most frequently over the past year for the Associated Press. Last month though I was contacted by the London bureau of the European Pressphoto Agency and asked to go out to Belmarsh prison in southeast London to photograph the wedding of jailed WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to his partner Stella Moris. The ceremony itself was held behind the bars of the prison, with the assembled media and supporters of Mr Assange gathered outside for the bride's arrival and departure. Since it was a wedding, albeit a news assignment, and since it gives a glimpse into my work away from the wedding photography I post on this site, I thought I'd show a few pictures here from the day for people to see...
